TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of roads in Jakarta have been flooded after the rain fell since the early hours of Tuesday, February 16. The rain with heavy intensity flushed evenly in Jakarta.
The Metro Police's Traffic Management tweeted that as per 10:24 Tuesday morning, a number of streets were inundated, including the area of Pluit warehouse, Penjaringan and Kelapa Gading.
"Drivers are advised to remain alert," the tweet said.
The flood caused vehicles to drive slow, causing traffic jams.
The city's Water Resources Office turned on one unit of floating pump in Cilincing Road, North Jakarta, and channeled the water to the nearest channel that empties into the Java Sea.
Meanwhile, the Cilincing Implementing Unit Transportation Agency's chief Alfath Yogatama said that cars and motorcycles can safely pass the water puddle albeit very slowly.
