TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT MNC Studios International Tbk (MSIN), part of business conglomerate MNC Group, is constructing an outdoor film studio dubbed Movieland in Lido, West Java. The resort project owned by MNC Land had been assigned as special economic zones or SEZ for tourism.
“Movieland is intended to be a one-stop facility that will improve the overall quality of our movie production,” said MSIN President Director Ella Kartika in a statement in Jakarta, Monday, February 15.
The film studio would be built on 21 hectares of land in the MNC Lido City which has the total area of 3,000 hectares.
Ella explained that Movieland would be equipped with various production facilities such as outdoor and indoor studios as well as equipment with world-class technology including cameras, sound, and others to support the post-production process.
Besides Movieland, the company is working to build a world-class theme park, golf courses, retail and dining areas, luxurious hotels, and resorts, as well as develop the creative economy area of film studios and music festivals.
The Lido resort including its amusement park is expected to boost the number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting Indonesia to 63.4 million people per year by 2038 or an average of 3.17 million tourists per year.
