TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former foreign affairs deputy minister Dino Patty Djalal made a firm statement against what he believes is a land mafia syndication and asserts that the alleged criminal syndicate and an an individual identified as ‘Freddy’ had committed a major mistake by targeting his 84-year old mother in a recent land-related fraud.
Dino claims to have obtained a number of evidence that can prove the involvement of Freddy and his role as the mastermind in a land mafia crime.
“I will be presenting three pieces of evidence of Freddy’s involvement in the land mafia syndicate,” said Dino in an Instagram video published on February 14.
The elaborates that the first evidence is the confession by a suspect named Sherly - who had been arrested by the police - and her statement that incriminates Freddy in the fraud against his mother’s house. The second aspect he believes is evidence, which he had filed to the police, is the Rp320 million transfer to Freddy Kusnadi which proves that his mother’s private property had been mortgaged.
The third piece of evidence Dino is having the police to investigate is the change in ownership of his mother’s house certificate to Freddy Kusnadi as he confirmed this to the National Land Agency (BPN).
“Freddy’s name popped up in a number of cases, at least three involving properties. But maybe it is much more than that. I will continue to investigate this,” said Dino Patti Djalal, “Until today I still have not seen masterminds of land mafia syndicates being arrested. This is what the public yearns for.”
