TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The long-weekend Chinese New Year's holiday creates a perfect opportunity to watch movies at home. Japanese animation, or anime, be it movies or series are a good place to start.
Here are our picks for anime movies and series of films and animated series to spend your long weekend with:
- Hello World
Released in 2019, the movie tells the story of a high school student who received a visit from an older version of himself—time traveling from the future, on a mission to save the life of his girlfriend.
- The Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Season 2)
"Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken" or TenSura, is a series about a corporate worker who, as the title said, reincarnated into a goop slime with extraordinary powers. The second season continues to show him on the journey he embarks in a world full of monsters.
- One Punch Man
This television series is an adaptation of a popular web manga of the same name. The superhero story is that of Saitama, who can defeat his opponent with a single punch, hence the title.
- Attack on Titan
Another popular series, "Attack on Titan", is coming for the fourth season. The story still revolves around its titular character Eren Jaeger, a man who can turn into a Titan, a species that eats humans.
- McDull: Rise of the Rice Cooker
Unlike the other items on this list, McDull: Rise of the Rice Cooker is not a Japanese animation work. It is a 2016 Chinese-Hong Kong animated comedy film about an inventor, Mcdull, who invented a rice cooker robot that can defeat monsters.
