Covid-19 Task Force Claims Treatment Improves; Warns Against Complacency

5 February 2021 09:37 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe national Covid-19 Task Force on Thursday, Feb. 4, claimed the handling of the pandemic has shown a somewhat positive development but warned people against being complacent about this fact.

Up to today, the number of recoveries has increased to more than 12,000 cases per day. The cumulative number of recoveries exceeding 900,000, or 81 percent recovery rate, from a total of 1.1 million people who tested positive for the coronavirus.

“We must not be complacent as there are still two aspects in the 3T program, which are testing and tracing,” said the task force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito on February 4.

He implied that the ‘treatment’ aspect is commendable, calling for the public to show their gratitude towards health workers who battled in the frontline and contributed largely for the country.

“I call for Indonesian people to say thank you to healthcare workers. We wish them the best health and that they may remain high-spirited in doing their tasks,” Wiku said.

The Covid-19 task force spokesperson persisted that the country’s tracing and testing efforts should be the focus for improvements as they would eventually completely mitigate the pandemic and relieve some pressure from the country’s treatment process.
