TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Pamong Praja Police accumulated Rp191.35 million from the payment of PSBB (large-scale social restrictions) fines from January 11 to February 3 this year. If we calculate the fine that violators have paid since June 5, 2020, the total amount is Rp5.9 billion.
The official Twitter account @SatpolPP_DKI posted an image yesterday, showing that the Rp191 million came from PSBB violators from three categories: not wearing a mask; office/business place/industry category; and restaurant/diner/café category.
The total value of the fine from people who did not wear masks was Rp175,350,000.
In the offices/ places of business/ industry category, there were 8,846 violations, of which two violators paid fines totaling Rp2 million. From the restaurants/ cafes category, there were 11,090 violations, accruing fines of Rp13 million.
On Wednesday, February 3, Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan joined the 'Jakarta Wears Mask' event, in which he shared his experience of being infected with Covid-19. "The bottom line is, it is a lot more comfortable to be wearing masks than to be infected with the virus," he said.
Jakarta still enacts social restrictions, which will end next Monday, February 8.
