Jakarta Governor: 'Face Mask is More Convenient Than Contracting Covid-19'

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan on Wednesday reminded people to remain masked in conducting their daily activities as the Covid-19 pandemic still looms over the city’s population. As a survivor, he maintained that wearing a face mask is more convenient than being exposed to the virus.
“If I may confess something here, is that it is much more inconvenient to suffer from Covid-19, which is truly not nice. The point is that wearing a face mask is much more convenient than being a victim of the pandemic,” said the governor on February 3.
In his public appearance to promote “Jakarta Bermasker” or Masked Jakarta, Anies Baswedan maintains that the face mask requirement is truly essential in the community fight against coronavirus pandemic which has yet ended despite the launch of the national vaccination program. .
Addressing the reasons people who do not wear face masks who pin it down to inconvenience, Anies said that wearing one is for the better of us as a community and collective effort to protect and respect other people who are vulnerable to Covid-19.
