TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said the government planned to set up the education and training center building in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, as an isolation center for pregnant women diagnosed with Covid-19.
Riza said the idea was conveyed by the Health Agency, given its close location to Duren Sawit Hospital. “It is still being evaluated and studied. We will see it later,” said Riza at Jakarta Metro Police on Wednesday, February 3.
Riza said yesterday that the Health Agency was mulling to use the building as the city administration was determined to increase facilities and infrastructures in handling the pandemic.
However, he asserted that the most fundamental thing is the public discipline in complying with the health protocols while supporting the success of the vaccination program.
Riza also appealed to the public to maintain a healthy lifestyle, sunbathe regularly, and have a positive interaction. “Refrain from doing activities that may attract crowds,” he underlined.
Jakarta is keen to improve the infrastructures for handling the pandemic as the daily number of Covid-19 cases reached over 3,000. On February 2, the capital city reported 3,362 new positive cases.
