AP II Completes Construction of Purbalingga Airport's Runway

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) has completed the construction of airside facilities including runway, taxiway and apron at Jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport in Purbalingga, Central Java.
The runway is 1,600 meters long and 30 meters wide, the apron is 69 meters long and 109 meters wide, and the taxiway is 15 meterd wide, PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said in a written statement released on Sunday.
The airside facilities can be used to serve twin propeller aircraft such as ATR 72-600., he said.
Awaluddin said the construction of the airport began nearly two years ago.
After the construction of airside facilities is 100 percent completed, the Transportation Ministry as civil aviation regulator will verify the airport.
On Sunday (Jan. 31), Director General of Air Transportation of the Transportation Ministry Novie Riyanto and his staff aboard a King Air plane with registration number PK-CAN made proofing flight on the airport. The plane landed smoothly on the runway.
