TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The legal representatives of FPI Aziz Yanuar on Thursday said the International Criminal Court (ICC) has received their report on the shooting of six FPI members. He also claimed that the case has already been handled by the court.
"[The report] has already been received, Alhamdulillah," said Aziz to Tempo on January 28. "Now we just need to wait."
Yanuar said he hopes the mastermind behind the shooting will soon be revealed in a case of alleged wrongful shooting by the police that the Komnas HAM (national commission on human rights) viewed as a human rights violation.
The shooting that killed members of the Islam Defenders Front (FPI) was filed to the International Criminal Court (ICC) office of the prosecutor on December 7, 2020. Based on the information Tempo received, the team of advocates has officially asked ICC to follow up the reports on what Yanuar's team dubs as May 21-22, 2019, and December 7, 2020, tragedies.
