  • TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Ministry and Director General of Bina Marga Hedy Rahadian, revealed that the Trans Sumatra toll road project may be halted due to the  IDR 60 trillion state investment (PMN) deficit.

Hedy made his statement during the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission V hearing on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

According to Hedy, this project is unique compared to other infrastructure projects as it is based on a Presidential Decree, which means the construction of the Trans Sumatra toll road is an assignment where the state finances the construction under PMN financing structure with Hutama Karya as the project developer.

"After we conducted an evaluation up until this moment, there is a IDR 60 trillion PMN deficit," said Hedy during the Commission V House hearing on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

Hedy claimed that the PUPR ministry's Bina Marga directorate-general is currently communicating with other state ministries and trying to find a solution to fill in the IDR 60 trillion gap immediately to continue the mega project.
