Covid-19 Aid Corruption; KPK Questions Social Ministry Staff

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe corruption eradication commission (KPK) scheduled a questioning for Social Ministry staff, Restu Hapsari, today, Jan. 26, regarding the alleged corruption case of Covid-19 social assistance.

“The person will be questioned for suspect AW (Adi Wahyono, the ministry’s official of commitment maker or PPK),” said the spokesman for the anti-graft agency Ali Fikri on Tuesday, Jan. 26.

Besides Restu, KPK also probed the secretariat head of the House’s (DPR) religion and social commission, Sigit Bawono Prasetyo and CEO of Mandala Hamonangan Sude Rangga Derana Niode, also for Adi Wahyono.

The investigators are also scheduled to question the operational director of Pertani Lalan Sukamaja and Bumi Pangan Digdaya, Achmad Gamaludin Moeksin, or Agam, for suspect Juliari Batubara, the former Social Minister.

KPK set Juliari Batubata and four other people as suspects in this case. They are the ministry’s commitment makers Adi Wahyono and Matheus Joko Santoso, and two from private parties Ardian I. M and Harry Sidabuke.

The corruption eradication commission suspected Juliari Batubara had taken Rp10,000 from every social assistance package distributed for the people highly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in Jakarta Greater Areas. The total of money he got allegedly reached Rp17 billion.
