153 Foreigners Arriving in Soekarno-Hatta Airport Quarantined: Immigration

25 January 2021 09:28 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Immigration Directorate General confirmed 153 Chinese nationals arriving at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten, on Saturday, January 23, were immediately directed to undergo quarantine.

“China Southern Airlines landed on Saturday, January 23, carrying 171 passengers, 153 Chinese citizens and 18 Indonesians,” said the Head of Public Relations at the Immigration DG, Ahmad Nursaleh, in a written statement received in Jakarta on Monday, Jan. 25.

Saleh added that they were escorted by the Covid-19 Task Force to the quarantine place.

As many as 150 out of 153 foreigners held temporary stay permits (ITAS) and permanent stay permits (ITAP), while the other three owned diplomatic visas, he outlined.

All foreign passengers had been classified as people who are allowed to enter Indonesian territory based on the circular letter of the Immigration Director-General concerning the temporary restriction on the entry of foreigners to Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The passengers have passed the medical examination and their immigration documents have been checked,” said Saleh, adding that they presented complete documents.
