Fake Pre-employment Govt Program Could be Stealing Personal Data

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An alleged fake website representing itself as the official website for Indonesia’s pre-employment (Prakerja) government subsidy is believed to exist established and dangerously entices people who access it to register their personal data. 

This website - that is confirmed as a fake site by pre-employment official administrators - is believed to be stealing people’s private information.

“It is a hoax that intends to deceive the public and steal personal data,” wrote the Pre-employment program executive management head of communications, Lousia Tuhatu, in a written statement on January 17. 

The link to the fake website that has spread publicly is http://dashboard.prakerja12.xyz/?gel=12, and up until late Sunday, January 17, was freely accessible for the public with a growing number of applicants that have potentially been duped to input their personal information.

Unlike the fake website that has opened the 12th registration phase, the official pre-employment program has only opened for its 11th phase. The government assures that an announcement for the 12th phase will be announced on social media platforms under the official username of @prakerja.go.id.
