TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo recalled the unique encounters he witnessed after receiving his first Covid-19 vaccine shot that was done at the Merdeka Palace on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
In a video published by the State Secretariat Youtube channel, the president recalled seeing the doctor, who acted as the vaccinator, slightly trembling before injecting the Covid-19 vaccine into his left arm.
“I saw that Professor Abdul Muthalib was trembling a little,” said the President while holding his left arm in the latest video published last night. “But alhamdulillah [the vaccination] ran smoothly this morning. I didn’t feel anything as I was being injected. But two hours later, [my hand] felt a little sore.”
President Jokowi assumed that the Head of the Presidential team of doctors was naturally nervous as the Covid-19 vaccination was the first held in Indonesia, aired live on television and internet live-stream platforms, with himself as the recipient.
“Especially considering it was aired live,” said Jokowi as he smiled remembering the moment.
