Covid-19 Patients in Wisma Atlet Hospital Continue to Rise

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients continued to increase, reported Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Emergency Hospital in Central Jakarta. Patients developing mild to moderate symptoms were being treated at Tower 4, 5, 6, and 7.

“Today, the number of hospitalized patients rises by 76,” said the emergency hospital spokesman Colonel Marshall Aris Mudian in a written statement on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021.

As of date, the makeshift hospital was treating 4,331 inpatients. “Patients who died during the treatment reach 21,” he added.

According to him, there were two more deaths caused by coronavirus disease two days ago.

Since the hospital was set in the former athlete’s dorm on March 23, 2020, the total number of patients undergoing treatment at Wisma Atlet Kemayoran hit 45,234. Of which, 40,903 patients have been discharged with 40,316 declared cured and 566 were referred to Covid-19 referral hospital as they showed severe symptoms.
