TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Jakarta Resort Police Chief Sr. Come. Ady Wibowo announced that the Covid-19 resilient village, or locally known as Kampung Tangguh Jaya, in Kapuk had managed to significantly halt virus transmission.
The village is located in the community unit (RT) 10 in neighborhood unit (RW) 16 of Kapuk, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.
According to Ady, the village recorded 12 positive cases of coronavirus disease. “There is no case now, by means it is a Covid-19 free region,” he said in Jakarta, Sunday, Jan. 10.
Before joining the resilient village program, Kapuk had been repeatedly declared as a virus red zone. Kampung Tangguh Jaya was initiated by Jakarta Metro Police Chief Insp. Gen. Fadil Imran in an effort to curb coronavirus cases.
The program also served as a means of community education, such as to disseminate the government’s recommendations and encourage public discipline to strictly apply the predetermined health protocols.
“With the collaboration of military forces (TNI) and the police, city administrations and the community can help educate the public about Covid-19,” Adi said.
