TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has asked ministers and regional heads to closely monitor the distribution of social assistance in 2021. He hoped that all aid would fully reach the people.
“I'd keep repeating this, ensure that the aid received by people is in full, without any cut,” said the President during the launching of the 2021 national social aid at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, January 4, 2021.
“I order ministers and governors to oversee the distribution process so that it is fast, right on target, and no cuts,” he underlined.
Jokowi launched today three types of cash aid. First, the Family Hope Program (PKH) for 10 million beneficiary families (KPM) that will be distributed by the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara) in four stages over one year: January, April, July, and October.
The second assistance program is the staple food packages for 18.8 million families that will be rolled out by Himbara through the Prosperous Family Saving Card (KKS). Each beneficiary family would receive cash aid of Rp200,000 beginning January until December 2021.
The third type of COVID-19 social assistance is the cash social aid (BST). Each recipient will obtain Rp300,000 for four consecutive months, starting from January to April 2021.
