COVID-19: Indonesia Adds 7,203 Cases in Single Day

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia added 7,203 confirmed COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, which took the total tally of infections to 758,473, the Task Force for COVID-19 Handling reported on Saturday.
With the addition of 7,582 recoveries, the number of patients recovering from the infection rose to 625,518.
Meanwhile, the death toll reached 22,555 after 226 more people succumbed to the virus in a single day.
With the addition of new cases, the number of active cases, or patients receiving medical treatment and conducting self-isolation, rose to 110,400. Meanwhile, 69,619 people were suspected of contracting the virus.
Jakarta contributed the highest number of new cases at 1,894 in a span of 24 hours, followed by West Java with 1,164 cases, Central Java with 971 cases, East Java with 723 cases, and South Sulawesi with 590 cases
The capital city also recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 187,585. Of the total patients, 168,703 recovered from COVID-19, while 3,316 succumbed to the infection.
