TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta City Administration through its Twitter account, @DKIJakarta, calls on its residents to celebrate 2021 New Year's Eve at home. The capital city government bans celebratory events, such as fire cracking, that may create crowds.
In addition, all tourism businesses are asked to abide by the set operating house. Diners, shops, cafes, bars, restaurants (including those in hotels), cinema, and tourist destinations must limit the operating hours to only open until 21:00. They are also asked to limit the number of visitors to 50% of the maximum capacity.
“On December 24-27, and December 31-January 1, the maximum operating hours is set until 19:00. As for cinema, the last movie showtime is set at 19:00,” said the Twitter post.
The businesses that are allowed to operate should implement the health measures, while food and beverage businesses are allowed to offer their online delivery service outside the set operating hours.
Internal Covid-19 task force at hotels and restaurants must monitor the implementation of health protocols in their respective locations. The city administration will take firm action against the violators of health protocols and operating hours regulation.
