TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Cathedral Pastor Hani Rudi Hartoko confirmed that people wishing to attend a Christmas Mass there must register online via belarasa.id.
“Those who are willing to attend must register beforehand in their respective parishes via the website so that all those present are clearly recorded,” said Hani during a virtual press conference on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020.
Hani explained that people will get a QR code after filling out the registration form, which they must present along with their ID Card (KTP) to the officer before entering the church.
During the service, the officer will match the QR code data with the KTP. Hani ensured that the system will reject applicants aged below 18 and over 59 years old.
The pastor added that his side had been trained to apply the scheme for the past eight months during the Covid-19 pandemic. “So until now we have no difficulties and the people are aware and educated,” he said.
The church spokesperson Susyana Suwadie added that before entering the Cathedral, people are obliged to undergo a temperature check and wash their hands with running water and soap. Those who are allowed to get in must wear a face mask during the service.
Jakarta Cathedral will hold Christmas Eve Mass on Dec. 24, Christmas Day Mass on Dec. 25, and New Year Masses on Dec. 31, 2020, and January 1, 2021.
