TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The political expert from the Syarif Hidayatullah Islamic State University (UIN), Adi Prayitno, on Tuesday argues that the Cabinet reshuffle is still driven by a ‘win-win solution’ among political parties in President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo's administration.
“There is nothing special as this cabinet reshuffle is a win-win solution,” said Adi to Tempo on December 22.
He believes the changes in positions of state ministers will not cause a “political dynamic” as parties such as Gerindra may have lost one position in the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry after Edhy Prabowo was named a graft suspect, its representation in the administration is now handed to the new Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry as Sandiaga Uno was appointed to replace Wishnutama.
Moreover, he said similar political party representations are also evident in other areas such as the appointing of Yaqut Cholil Qoumas from PKB Party as the new Minister of Religious Affairs.
Adi Prayitno also said the joining of Sandiaga Uno completes Jokowi’s reconciliation of the 2019 presidential election as Uno was Prabowo Subianto’s running mate, both were the main rivals of Jokowi - Ma’ruf Amin in the past presidential election.
“The reconciliation is now finally complete after Prabowo [was named Defense Minister] now it is Sandiaga Uno’s turn,” said Prayitno who is also the executive director of pollster Parameter Politik Indonesia.
