TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bali Governor Wayan Koster underlined that tourist attractions on the Island of the Gods are allowed to welcome tourists during the Christmas and 2021 New Year holidays.
"It can be opened under predetermined health protocols. All are allowed to operate, no single place is closed," said Koster to reporters in Gedung Gajah, Jayasabha, Denpasar, on Tuesday, December 22, 2020.
According to Koster, the province's Tourism Agency, the regency or city agencies, and tourist site management shared a commitment on the tourism sector and had even prepared a certification for the new era protocols.
"We will surely take action against [tourist site management] that are not compliant," Koster underlined.
Additionally, Koster had ordered Bali Indigenous Community Agency Head to coordinate with a number of village officials that were opening tourist destinations, such as Kuta, Sanur, and Ubud.
When asked for confirmation about issues saying that Bali will be opened for foreign tourists beginning January 1, 2021, Koster said the provincial administration has not come to any decision as they were waiting for the result of the evaluation in December 2020.
