Police Operation Posts Established ahead of Christmas, New Year's Eve

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The South Jakarta Police on Monday announced the establishment of 10 ‘Lilin Jaya’ police operation posts which is an annual operation ahead of Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations. This police operation will last from December 21 to January 4
“In south Jakarta there are 10 posts across each sub-districts located in crowded areas and tourism sites,” said South Jakarta Police Chief Grand Commissioner Budi Satono on December 21.
The ‘Lilin Jaya’ operation also involves members from the South Jakarta Military Command and government apparatus in the area. The police posts are strategically located in areas that are considered to potentially garner large crowds of people.
This year will not only see police and army personnel taking guard but also healthcare workers that will uphold health protocols that will provide public health checks and Covid-19 rapid tests services.
