TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Many people are already planning ahead of the year-end holidays. In relation to this condition, Covid-19 task force official Dewi Nur Aisyah said reminded people who are planning to travel during the pandemic to comply with health protocols.
"Make sure that you travel while complying with health protocols. That is a must and must not be ignored," said Dewi, who is the Covid-19 task force's head of data and information technology.
According to Dewi, four provinces in Indonesia saw a sudden rise in Covid-19 infection rate following the October weekend holidays. These provinces are Jakarta, West Java, East Java, and Central Java with the capital city experiencing a 13 percent increase while East Java saw the highest with 24 percent increase.
Dewi called for people to continue using face masks, especially in public transportation, and simply cancel going on a holiday if family members show symptoms of Covid-19, or have been in contact with people suspected of Covid-19 until further tests are taken.
The task force also encourages people against traveling to destinations that have high infection rates.
