Economic Recovery Budget Not Fully Absorbed Despite 2021 in Sight

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The cumulative realization of the National Economic Recovery (PEN) budget up to December 14, 2020, had only reached IDR 481.61 trillion (69.3 percent) from the total budget ceiling of IDR 695.2 trillion.
Despite such conditions, the Head of the PEN task force Budi Gunadi Sadikin, said on Wednesday, December 27, 2020, that the government had initially planned to absorb or utilize a minimum of IDR 100 trillion during the 4th quarter of 2020. Currently, as many as IDR 163.13 trillion funds have been spent.
"There is still two weeks left, hopefully, we are able to quickly realize the budget left over as soon as possible," wrote Budi, who is also the Head of the National Economic Recovery Task Force in a statement on Wednesday, December 17, 2020.
Up until December 14, 2020, the social security sector has realized a budget of IDR 217.16 trillion (94.15 percent) while the SMEs sector has recorded a budget realization of IDR 106.25 trillion (91.73 percent). Meanwhile, the health sector has disbused IDR 46.68 trillion (48.5 percent) while the least amount of budget was recorded by the corporate funding sector with only saw IDR 8.15 trillion (13.31 percent).
