TEMPO.CO, JakartaToll road operator Jasa Marga president director Subakti Syukur confirmed that CCTV cameras in the area where the FPI members were shot dead were still on and undamaged during the incident. According to him, there were 23 cameras along the KM 49-50 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.

“The CCTV cameras were functioning, but the data transmission was interrupted,” said Subakti at the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) building today, Dec. 14, 2020.

Subakti explained that CCTV cameras on the toll road saw data transmission issues, while those at toll gates did not experience any disturbances. The surveillance cameras, he added, had been malfunctioning from Sunday afternoon to Monday dawn, Dec. 6-7, 2020.

However, Subakti claimed there was no footage albeit the cameras were functioning during the fatal clash. “There is no footage,” he testified.

Subakti met the Komnas HAM summons over the shooting of six FPI members in the early hours of Monday, Dec. 7. Other than him, Jakarta Metro Police Chief Insp. gen. Fadil Imran was also interrogated.

Komnas HAM Commissioner Choirul Anam said the summons were issued to shed light on the shooting incident of the FPI members, the bodyguards of Rizieq Shihab.

“We’d like to thank Jasa Marga for being transparent and providing quite detailed information,” said Anam.
