West Lombok Readies to Welcome Tourists During Year-end Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Mataram - West Lombok Regency in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is ready to welcome tourists during the upcoming year-end holiday. Several major destinations have started to attract domestic and international tourists, including Senggigi and Sekotong.
The Regional Tourism Agency Head Saepul Akhkam said that 35 percent of in star hotel rooms in the two areas have been reserved. Senggigi and Sekotong prepared 1,000 and 400 rooms, respectively.
“We are ready. Senggigi offers sunset tourism, while Sekotong presents leisure tourism and underwater life,” said Saepul to Tempo on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020.
Other than the two favorite tourist attractions, West Lombok has Narmada Lingsar which is renowned for its cultural heritage site. “We are proud to introduce it as a tourist destination,” he added.
NTB Governor Zulkieflimansyah earlier asked tourism players to prepare themselves for the tourist arrival from big cities ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
“It is predicted that many tourists are willing to enjoy the natural beauty of NTB during this year-end holiday,” said the governor when opening the 2020 Lombok Sumbawa Accommodation Expo and Tenun Festival which took place at Lombok Epicentrum Mall on Monday, Dec. 7.
Zulkieflimansyah asserted that visitors would definitely expect a safe and convenient vacation without being haunted by the threat of Covid-19. Thus, he asked tour management to tighten the implementation of health protocols in each destination.
