AirAsia Doubles Flight Frequency on Jakarta-Lombok Route

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Low-cost carrier AirAsia Indonesia increased the flight frequency from Jakarta to Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, as it saw a hike in passenger number in the last two months.
The airline President Director Veranita Y. Sinaga said that in October and November, there were 187 flights from and to Lombok with the occupancy rate reaching 70 percent in accordance with the maximum capacity set by the government.
“We have increased the flight frequency on the Lombok-Jakarta route to 14 times per week from previously seven times per week, and provided the Lombok-Surabaya route 4 times a week,” said Veranita in a press release on Friday, Dec. 4.
The budget airline also recorded that the number of passengers visiting Lombok has almost doubled in the past two months. The figure was expected to keep increasing in December given the year-end holidays. Additionally, the flight to Lombok from Medan has been opened via Jakarta.
In December, AirAsia Indonesia provided more than 10,000 seats for flights from and to Lombok and resumed partnership with West Nusa Tenggara Province to support the people economy by adding the inventory number of hotels in the region on airasia.com.
