Jakarta Sees 1,153 New Daily Cases of Covid-19

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta still has no real control over Covid-19 transmission. On December 3, the capital recorded 1,153 new confirmed cases, making the city Indonesia's third-biggest contributor for the day.
Dwi Oktavia, the Jakarta Health Office's director of disease prevention and control, said that today's positive cases came from testing 11,700 subjects.
She said that as of today there are 10,368 active cases in Jakarta.
Since March, there have been 140,238 coronavirus cases in the capital, of which 127,136 or 90.7 percent recovered. The number of deaths related to Covid-19 in Jakarta is 2,734, putting the mortality rate at 1.9 percent.
"Indonesia's mortality rate is 3.1 percent," Dwi said.
Over the last week, she said that the positivity rate in Jakarta reached 9.0 percent, up from 8.6 percent the week before. Overall, Jakarta's positivity rate is 8.3 percent, above the WHO's threshold of 5 percent.
