Jokowi Appoints Syahrul Yasin Limpo as Fisheries Minister Ad-interim

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has appointed Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo as the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister ad-interim.
This was revealed in the State Secretary Letter No.B-918/M.Sesneg/D-3/AN.00.03/12/2020 on December 2, which was addressed to Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
The Agriculture Ministry spokesperson Kuntoro Boga Andri confirmed this to Antaranews on Wednesday, Dec. 2. “The ministry has received the letter from the State Secretary,” said Kuntoro.
Prior to Limpo’s appointment, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan was appointed as the ad-interim minister to replace Edhy Prabowo. He had to resign from his position after being named a suspect of corruption in the case involving lobster seeds export permit.
