TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the government aimed to use the 2021 State Budget as soon as possible so that the Covid-19 mitigation and the national economic recovery efforts could be carried out from the beginning of the year.
“President Jokowi emphasizes that the 2021 State Budget must be implemented as early as January 2021,” said Sri in her Instagram account @smindrawati on Wednesday, Dec. 2.
She added that the 2021 Budget Document or DIPA had been submitted earlier on Nov. 25. Thus, she believed that the procurement of goods and services could be done as soon as possible at the end of this year.
The spending allocation in the 2021 State Budget that amounted to Rp2,750 trillion would be prioritized to resume the Covid-19 handling program, such as social safety net, vaccinations, and assistance for industries and regional governments in recovering from the impact of the pandemic, Sri explained.
Sri further ensured that the government would also focus on prudent financing management, including supporting the SOE restructuring, increasing capital access for MSMEs and ultra-micro enterprises, as well as supporting education programs.
“Let’s supervise the management of our State Budget so that it is effective, accountable, not corrupted, and is focused on benefits for the community,” Sri Mulyani said.
