TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta regional secretary Sri Haryati on Tuesday announced that the city’s governance will run as in a normal circumstance despite Governor Anies Baswedan and Deputy Governor Riza Patria currently under self-isolation after both men contracted COVID-19.
Haryati said no acting-governors will be appointed as both men continue to work remotely.
“The two continue to lead the city administration online,” wrote the city’s secretary on December 1.
Prior to this announcement, Anies Baswedan had ordered Jakarta administration officials to continue serving the public while remaining disciplined with health protocol.
Sri Haryati said she remains to be in contact with the governor and deputy governor to discuss the city’s 2021 regional budget plan.
