Police Chief Orders Personnel to Shoot Ali Kolara Members to Death

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police (Polri) Chief Gen. Idham Azis on Monday ordered his personnel to shoot members of the East Indonesia Mujahidin who resist arrest.
“I have ordered my personnel to take serious measures against them. If there is an encounter with those who resist [arrest] then execute them,” wrote Idham Azis in a statement on Monday, November 30.
The National Police have mobilized the Tinombala task force to Sigi regency to hunt down the East Indonesia Mujahidin leader, Ali Kolara. The Indonesian Military (TNI) has also been mobilized to assist with the hunt.
“We will go into areas that have been the hiding spots for members of the Ali Kolara-led group,” said TNI Commander Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.
Previously, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo gave orders to the National Police chief and the TNI commander to eradicate the terrorist group to its roots.
The East Indonesia Mujahidin terror group killed four innocent people on November 27, 2020, and burned down houses belonging to local residents.
