TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Block B building of the Jakarta City Hall was temporarily closed after Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria tested positive for COVID-19.
“Yes, it (Block B) is temporarily closed,” said the city secretariat official Sri Haryati here on Monday, Nov. 30.
According to Sri, the closure would last for three days until Wednesday, Dec. 2, for sterilization. She added that only Block B was closed because it is Ahmad Riza’s office, while other buildings remain open as usual.
Ahmad Riza was confirmed positive for coronavirus disease after passing a PCR test by Jakarta Health Agency on Friday, Nov. 27. Based on the contact tracing, he contracted it from his personal staffer who was infected from the family cluster.
Ahmad Riza Patria said in a written statement that he hoped the news would encourage residents to stay disciplined in complying with the health protocols of wearing face masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands regularly.
“Please pray for all of us to be in good health. Jakarta is not yet free from the COVID-19 pandemic," the Deputy Governor underlined.
