TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police would begin to summon a number of Bogor Ummi Hospital directors today, Nov. 30, following a report by the COVID-19 Mitigation Task Force for allegedly obstructing the task force to examine a patient, Rizieq Shihab.
“The task force officers filed a report on the alleged violation of Law No. 4 of 1984 on infectious disease,” said Bogor Resort Police Chief Sr. Comr. Hendri Fiuser on Sunday, Nov. 29.
Hendri said the police had probed Bogor COVID-19 Mitigation Task Force. “We have collected pieces of evidence, including video recordings and other documents,” he added.
Previous reports suggested that Rizieq Shihab underwent medical treatment at Ummi Hospital due to fatigue. However, the task force helmed by Mayor Bima Arya said the FPI frontman was among people under monitoring for the coronavirus disease since several videos showed that the latter hugged with Depok mayor candidate Mohammad Idris who recently tested positive.
The task force’s attempts to reach Rizieq for a swab test failed because he had passed a test himself with the help of the Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C).
Hendri went on to say that his side opened a possibility to summon Rizieq Shihab. “If the result of the examination shows that he is involved in obstructing [the task force] to prevent the spread of the infectious disease,” he said. Rizieq Shihab had reportedly left the hospital on Friday, Nov. 29, 2020.
