TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan refused to further comment on the legal process of beleaguered former minister Edhy Prabowo.
Luhut, who has been tapped as ad interim Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Minister, handed the legal process to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
“Ask the KPK,” said Luhut after holding a meeting with KKP Ministry officials in Gambir, Central Jakarta, Friday, Nov. 27.
However, he hoped the anti-graft body would investigate the case in accordance with the existing regulations.
“Don’t be exaggerating, that’s my only request. Not everyone is bad, many others are good people,” said Luhut, stopping short of explaining his statement.
Previously, the KPK named Edhy Prabowo as a suspect in an alleged corruption case related to lobster business permits. Six other people, including ministry officials and private parties, were also named suspects.
“The KPK has named 7 suspects,” said KPK Deputy Chairman Nawawi Pomolango during a press conference at his office, Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020.
