TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Griffith University epidemiologist, Dicky Budiman, on Monday said the government still has an awful lot of homework in handling the COVID-19 pandemic as he said the first wave of coronavirus infection has not ended yet.
“This shows how ineffective Indonesia’s pandemic mitigation is,” said Dicky Budiman on Monday, November 23.
Budiman argues that the number of tests and attempts to contact trace possible cases is still lacking, which he believes is essential as people are still facing “a critical situation.”
The epidemiologist called for the government to synergize its attempts on pandemic mitigation with regional administrations and advised against talking about slackening the health restrictions, let alone reopening schools to accommodate classroom teaching.
