Police Summon Jakarta Deputy Riza Patria Over Mass Gathering

23 November 2020 12:02 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta deputy governor Riza Patria is scheduled to undergo police questioning at the Metro Jaya Police headquarters in South Jakarta today which is strongly believed to be linked to the illegal crowd gathering that took place in Petamburan on Saturday last week.

The Metro Jaya Police spokesperson Grand Commissioner Yusri Yunus confirmed this on Monday, November 23 but did not reveal the details. “The questioning is scheduled for today.”

Riza Patria was initially scheduled to be questioned on Thursday, November 19, but was not able to be met and requested for a reschedule.

Apart from the deputy governor, another individual in hot water due to holding a densely crowded wedding reception is the wedding management responsible for Rizieq Shihab’s daughter’s wedding.

Police have summoned everyone involved in the wedding reception - which violates the COVID-19 health protocol - which also includes Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan along with eight other officials in the Jakarta administration.
