TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, that his ministry is pinning hopes on the private sector to help Indonesia's economic growth during the fourth quarter of 2020.
"We are waiting for the private sector in the form of investments. Once investments increase, we are certain that the fourth quarter will be better," said Airlangga in a webinar on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.
In the third quarter of 2020, Indonesia displayed a 5.05 percent growth and expects to maintain positive growth until December 2020.
Overall, Airlangga said that Indonesia's economic growth has shown a positive trend from scoring -5.32 percent to -3.49 percent and is eyeing to record an even better number ranging from -1.6 percent up to -0.6 percent.
Meanwhile, the 2021 outlook from a number of institutions expects the country's economic growth to remain within the positive zone as the government is aiming for a 5 percent state budget (APBN) growth.
