TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry special staff of communication and spokesperson, Prabunindya Revta Revolusi, said that the government was striving to reactivate nature tourism to boost the economy amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The plan was made following the high interest of tourists towards nature-based or adventure tourism.
“As for the current travel pattern, tourists prefer to visit natural attractions with fresh air and avoid crowds,” said Prabu to Tempo on Monday, November 16, 2020.
He added that the ministry had disseminated the health protocol guidelines which include the clean, health, safety, and environmental sustainability (CHSE) program in tourist sites.
The ministry was also supporting economic recovery in the nature tourism sector by organizing virtual events, such as a running competition of 2020 Running Indonesia Archipelago.
“This is part of the efforts to enhance public awareness and promote tourist destinations in the country,” Prabu said.
