Police to Summon RT Head up to Anies Baswedan over Rizieq Shihab's Events

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Police planned to summon Rizieq Shihab over the violation of the health protocol against Covid-19, which was holding a wedding reception for his daughter that attracted large crowds.
“We want to ask for clarification. The team of National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) and Metro Police will handle it,” said the National Police spokesperson Insp. Gen. Argo Yuwono at his office, South Jakarta, Monday, November 16, 2020.
Other than Rizieq, the police will also call in all parties deemed responsible for the crowd at the event, including Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
“We will also clarify it to members of the community development (Binmas) who are in charge of health protocols, heads of neighborhood unit (RT, RW) and sub-districts, Central Jakarta Mayor, the Religious Affairs Office (KUA) officials, the Covid-19 Task Force, the Jakarta Legal Bureau, and the Governor as well as several guests,” Argo explained.
Argo mentioned that all of them would be investigated for alleged criminal acts in Article 93 of Law No. 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine, in which the penalty was noted up to a maximum of 10 years imprisonment.
The FPI leader Rizieq Shihab held a wedding reception for his daughter on November 14, 2020, which was attended by around 7,000 people. The FPI headquarters in Petamburan also established a Maulid event to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad.
