Virtual Tour to Six Surabaya Museums

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Surabaya government holds museum virtual tour and Surabaya Heroic Track on November 14-15, in commemoration of Heroes Day 2020. Hundreds of people will be joining the event.
According to the public relations head of Surabaya Administration, Febriadhitya Prajatara, the agenda of the tour is to introduce historical attractions in the city.
“Through an online application, the participants will be guided by a local guide and historian during the tour. They may also ask questions to the guide or the historian,” he said on Friday, November 13.
Febri said the virtual tour aims to increase knowledge and insight about heroic attractions, as well as to increase a sense of nationalism among the younger generations or students.
The theme of the tour is The Heroism of Surabaya Heroes. The series of the virtual tour will tell stories of heroism journey, starting from heroic figures in the pre-Nusantara (archipelago) era until the post-independence era.
On the first day, the participants will be taken on a virtual visit to Surabaya Raden Wijaya Museum, WR. Supratman Museum, and Ki Hajar Dewantara Museum. On the second day, they will virtually visit the H.O.S Tjokroaminoto Museum, DR. Soetomo Museum, and 10 November Museum.
Meanwhile, the Surabaya Heroic Track 2020 will be held online on Tuesday, November 17, starting at 10:00 western Indonesia time. The locations are at HOS Tjokroaminoto Museum and 10 November Museum.
“The participants are Elementary and Junior High School students in Surabaya of around 300 people. They join the series of the event through Zoom app,” Febri said.
The general public can also join the virtual tour through the official Instagram account of Surabaya Administration @Surabaya, @Surabayasparkling and @Sapawargasby.
