TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Secretary of Jakarta regional-owned enterprise development agency (BP-BUMD), Riyadi, rebuffed circulating news about the increase in the city’s shares in beer company PT Delta to 58.33 percent.
“It is not true. The government has no plan to increase its shares in PT Delta,” said Riyadi at the City Hall on Friday, November 13, 2020.
He clarified that the stakes owned by the city administration at the brewery remained 26.25 percent. He added Jakarta even planned to sell the shares pending the approval of the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD).
“We want to sell them (the shares) until now, not increase them,” Riyadi remarked.
As for the false information, Riyadi claimed his side was seeking accounts from the Delta management. “Because such information needs to be clarified. We do not have a plan to buy more shares there.”
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan's plan to sell the city’s shares in Delta Djakarta, the producer of Anker Beer, Anker Stout, Kuda Putih, and Carlsberg Beer, was hampered by the absence of response from the Jakarta DPRD to the request.
