Tourism Ministry to Apply 3K Protocol in Tourist Destination

12 November 2020 22:48 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry with the support of 23 ministries and institutions held a simulation of the health, safety, and security measures -- known as 3K protocol, in national tourist destinations at Inaya Bay Komodo Hotel, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Tourism Minister Wishnutama Kusubandio said the activity was carried out to ensure the government’s seriousness in handling the health, security, and safety measures in travel sites.

“This protocol is also necessary to accelerate the recovery of tourism and achieve quality tourism,” said Wishnutama on Wednesday, November 12, 2020.

During the simulation, three emergency response scenarios were enacted. The first scenario focused on the handling of the early warning system in an earthquake that has the potential for a tsunami.

The second scenario was concentrated on the accident involving tourists’ health, such as a heart attack, while the third was focused on the emergency response to a sinking ship.

All the three scenarios were played out by involving various parties, including the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Indonesian Military (TNI), National Police (Polri), National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Komodo National Park Board, the Health Ministry, tour guides, integrated park team, the community, and others.
