BMKG Forecasts Heavy Rain in Jakarta's Satellite Cities

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on Thursday has issued an early warning weather forecast for cities in West Java for possible extreme weather over Bogor, Sukabumi, Cianjur, Bogor City, Depok City, Bekasi City, and Bekasi.

“Beware of light to heavy rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds [in the aforementioned regions],” wrote the BMKG on its website on November 12. 

Other areas that may be affected by this extreme weather include Jakarta’s satellite cities and regions such as Bekasi, Cibinong, Cikarang, and Depok. 

The BMKG forecasts overcast throughout the day for the capital city of Jakarta with light rain over South and East Jakarta at noon.
