TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government is targeting the bypass construction from Lombok International Airport to the Mandalika Special Economic Zone to be completed in August 2021. The 17-kilometer bypass will be one of the supporting infrastructure for the 2021 MotoGP event.
Febry Calvin Tatelepta, first deputy of the Presidential Staff Office, reviewed the road access from Lombok Airport to the Mandalika MotoGP circuit on Wednesday, November 4.
"Everything must be completed and we must succeed together in [organizing] the MotoGP," Febry said. "We are here to monitor the readiness of MotoGP 2021, starting from Lombok airport to roads."
Meanwhile, West Nusa Tenggara Governor Zulkieflimansyah said that all construction works needed for the MotoGP 2021 are on going. Zulkieflimansyah also underlined that people's welfare must be prioritized in every development. He does not want the Mandalika MotoGP event to be enjoyed only by a handful of people, without involving the community.
Febry said that in the development process, the government and all parties related to the implementation of MotoGP must coordinate with the communities. "No society should be harmed," he said.
