Garuda Indonesia Launches 3 New Routes to Domestic Tourist Destinations

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia was set to launch three new flight routes to leading tourist destinations this week. They will allow for round trips between Surabaya and Labuan Bajo, Surabaya-Batam-Medan, and Solo-Denpasar.
Garuda President Director Irfan Setiaputra said that the opening of the new route was the corporate’s commitment to support accessibility and boost domestic tourism, as well as a strategic effort to increase the potential and expand its domestic market.
“The launching of these three new routes is also Garuda's ongoing commitment to support the government in efforts of the national economic recovery,” said Irfan in a written statement, Thursday, November 5, 2020.
The Surabaya-Labuan Bajo route will start on November 6, 2020. The service will be available twice a week, every Monday and Friday, using Bombardier CRJ-1000 Next Generation aircraft.
The Solo-Denpasar route will start on November 6, 2020. Garuda Indonesia plans to serve the flight every Friday and Sunday using a Boeing B737-800 NG aircraft.
The Surabaya-Batam-Medan route, meanwhile, will be served beginning November 7, 2020, every Thursday and Saturday using a Boeing B737-800 NG aircraft.
