TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Surabaya city government claimed it has succeeded in suppressing the spread of Covid-19 as it recorded zero cases in 95 of 154 subdistricts. The city’s public relations bureau head Febriadhitya Prajatara said the government would do the best to maintain the number.
“Alhamdulillah, more subdistricts are having zero cases. This means it is getting under control,” said Febriadhitya on Monday, November 2, 2020.
The government, he added, was striving to increase the number of free-coronavirus subdistricts by disseminating the predetermined health protocol and campaigning for a healthy and clean lifestyle starting from the neighboring unit (RT-RW) level up to the district level, as well as involving Kampung Tangguh Wani Jogo Suroboyo.
“Disseminating the health protocol needs to be done continuously so that citizens will remain disciplined and the goal to control and break the transmission chain can also be achieved. We will keep carrying out massive swab tests, too,” he added.
Besides, the number of patients recovering from coronavirus disease has increased every day. Based on data as of Sunday, November 1, 14,714 Covid-19 patients in Surabaya have declared cured, bringing the recovery rate to 92.12 percent. The active cases or confirmed patients also continued to decline to 91.
