BPBD Jakarta: Pasar Ikan Floodgate at Alert Level 2

TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD Jakarta) said on its official website that Pasar Ikan Floodgate in North Jakarta recorded an Alert Level 2 status at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, with the water level at 220 centimeters.

Previously, the website noted that the status of the floodgate was declared to be Alert 3 at 2 a.m. with the water level at 180 cm high. The condition kept rising until the status turned to Alert 2 at 8 a.m. with the water level at 215 cm high.

At 9 a.m., the water level was recorded at 226 cm and receded to 220 cm at 10 a.m. Despite its Alert Level 2 status, the disaster mitigation agency said that the weather at Pasar Ikan Floodgate was fairly bright.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicted that the North Jakarta area will be showered by light intensity rain, as well as in the Central Jakarta and Thousand Islands (Seribu Islands). Rain with lightning was predicted to fall on South and East Jakarta areas, while medium-intensity rain will pour over the West Jakarta area.
